Dave Smith is president of eviCore, a leading medical benefits management company that connects patients, providers, and health plans with intelligent, evidence-based solutions to enable better outcomes. In his role, Dave leads all areas of eviCore, which includes more than 400 medical directors and more than 1,000 nurses, spanning 50+ specialties to process medical claims and benefits for more than 100 clients, accounting for 100 million members.

With a strong commitment to patient safety, Dave leads a team dedicated to improving quality of care and advancing health care management while reducing waste and abuse.

Since joining eviCore in 1999, Dave has served in multiple roles, starting as vice president of Operations. He spearheaded the development and management of a national imaging center network and has led successful major initiatives in account management and business development.

Prior to joining eviCore, Dave served as vice president, Provider Network Management, for Cigna/Healthsource in South Carolina. Dave began his career as a CPA in the Internal Audit department at Ernst & Young, after graduating from Harding University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Dave serves as a board member for the Tennessee chapter of the American Cancer Society.
