Matthew Bennett serves as Senior Vice President, Care Delivery for Evernorth, a premier health services portfolio that connects and coordinates innovative and flexible solutions for health plans, employers and government programs.

In his role, Matthew oversees Evernorth’s portfolio of care delivery businesses, which deliver primary, specialty, and post-acute care services to millions of patients across health care centers, employer worksites, in the home, and virtually. He is responsible for leading Evernorth Care Delivery’s growth and expansion by transforming how care is accessed and creating new care models that redefine whole-person care.

Since joining Cigna in 2009, Matthew has progressed through roles of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as president of Cigna Medical Group where he led the organization through an accelerated chapter of growth and transformation, and positioned it to serve as a clinical innovation hub for the company. Prior to this, he held leadership positions within the Information Technology, Service Operations, and Total Health & Network organizations.

Matthew is active with numerous philanthropic organizations and serves on the board of Social Driver. Matthew has been recognized by Managed Healthcare Executive Magazine as one of the Top 13 emerging leaders shaping the future of American health care. He was also named “Healthcare Executive of the Year” (Phoenix Media, 2019) and a “40 Under 40 Honoree” (Phoenix Business Journal, 2019).
Matthew earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University where he studied Public Policy and Economics.
