MD Live by Evernorth has been recognized on TIME’s list of the World’s Top HealthTech Companies 2025, earning an “outstanding” ranking in the Telehealth and Treatment category.
The inaugural list, developed by TIME in collaboration with Statista, recognizes the top 400 companies in the world that provide the most impactful advancements in health care technology. Companies were evaluated on metrics for digital engagement, reputation, and financial performance.
“We are proud to receive this recognition, which affirms the efforts of our teams and clinical partners to expand access, simplify care experiences, and improve health outcomes,” said Tony Colistra, president of MD Live. “Virtual care works best when it is connected – integrated around the member and coordinated with their health plan’s network. That’s the model we’ve built, and we’re honored to see it acknowledged on a global stage.”
An integrated approach to virtual care
MD Live offers a comprehensive suite of virtual care services – including primary care, urgent care, pediatrics, therapy, psychiatry, dermatology, and men’s and women’s health – with seamless in‑network referrals, on‑formulary prescribing, and coordinated follow‑up.
MD Live patients can make same-day primary care appointments for routine needs, while behavioral health appointments are typically available within five days. Patients also have 24/7 on-demand access to urgent care for more than 80 common medical conditions. Services are provided by a national network of roughly 2,400 board-certified providers.
MD Live serves 62 million individuals through health plans and employers, helping these clients achieve $2.7 billion in cost savings since 2019. Client retention stands at 93%, and the member Net Promoter Score (NPS) reached an industry-leading 74.
“We are dedicated to ensuring patient satisfaction while delivering measurable value for clients,” Colistra said. “We continually invest in MD Live, expanding capabilities like asynchronous E‑treatment that enables patients to get on-demand care without the need to talk to a doctor in real time, while maintaining the personalized quality support our customers expect.”
MD Live’s asynchronous E-Treatment is now available 24/7/365 to support member access outside of regular hours to accommodate busy schedules (where permissible by state law). It helps reduce the need for costly ER and urgent care visits via talk-free access to care.
In addition, virtual primary care services led to a 30% increase in compliance with preventive screenings, helping patients identify chronic conditions earlier and improve overall health outcomes. Behavioral health therapy via MD Live has shown improvement after three sessions for 80% of patients living with anxiety or depression.
Raising the bar on quality care delivery
Looking ahead, Colistra remains focused on advancing quality in virtual care. He noted that MD Live is one of the few telehealth companies selected to participate in NCQA’s new virtual accreditation program, and the company is working to support health plan clients in meeting HEDIS and Star measures.
At the same time, MD Live will continue to explore ways to expand services and enhance features to improve the care experience and better meet patient needs. “We will keep raising the bar on care quality and delivery to better support our patients and our clients,” Colistra said.
