John joined Express Scripts PBM in 2018. He brings to Express Scripts more than 16 years of experience in clinical strategy and market development.

Prior to coming aboard, he served as Chief Medical Officer at DaVita RX and Vice President of Clinical Affairs at DaVita Inc. Before that, Dr. Wigneswaran held a variety of roles in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care service industries, including Vice President Market Development at Fresenius Medical Care, Medical Director in medical affairs at Johnson & Johnson (Scios Inc.), Clinical Advisory Board Chair at Nephroceuticals Inc., and Chief Medical Officer for CHF Solutions, Inc. (Gambro). Additionally, he has clinical practice experience as a practicing nephrologist/partner at Renal Physicians Inc. and currently as a renal fellowship preceptor in the Division of Nephrology at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University. Dr. Wigneswaran also serves on a variety of advisory boards for start-up technology companies through his relationships with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
